Younis/Younus Khan continues to amaze me.
After drawing a lot of flak for calling the T20 world championships a stage for having fun at the expense of losing the opening match, he has come up with something innovative now.
If Pakistan win the finals of the World T20 championship, he will dedicate the victory to the late Pakistani coach Bob Woolmer.
I was wondering why Bob Woolmer, Resting In Peace in his grave would suddenly be brought to the forefront whilst it has been a while Pakistan has had a different coach after him.
Does he mean to say that it was Pakistan’s loss to Ireland that was responsible for Woolmer’s death and an ICC tournament victory would be the best tribute they can give him?
There are a lot of new players in this team who never played under Bob Woolmer.
Whatever he meant to say, only Youni(u)s will be able to clarify to us.

I know wat ur saying but I understand where Younis was coming from.
He was one of the closest people to Woolmer while he was coach. Younis considered him to be a father figure, and he had said so many times as well.
Plus the first time he declined the captaincy he also said that he was too traumatized after Woolmer’s death to lead the team.
Hence.. the dedication.
As for the players.. out of the team that played today only Shahzaib, Misbah, Alam, and Aamir had not played under Woolmer.

That’s an interesting point you make. We generally don’t get to hear such information about coach-player relationships. Atleast in India and Pakistan, we see coaches picking up differences of opinion with players. So it surprised me when I heard the name Woolmer from nowhere.
